Lexus RX 400h HybridLexus RX 400h Hybrid 2005 Tax Deduction
The Lexus RX 400h Hybrid 2006 model qualifies for the 2005 $2000 tax deduction. How much this tax deduction will ultimately put back into your pocket depends on a number of factors including your tax bracket. For the vast majority of people, the Lexus RX 400h Hybrid tax deduction will come somewhere between $300 and $600 in savings off of their taxes.
In order to claim the tax deduction for the Lexus RX 400h Hybrid car, you must use form 1040 when filing you taxes (if you use the shorter forms you will not be able to claim this deduction). You do not, however, have to itemize (schedule A) your deductions to claim this deduction. Instead, write "Clean-Fuel $2,000" on the dotted line of line 35. Make sure to include this amount in that line's total adjustments to income.
The deduction for the Lexus RX 400h Hybrid car is a one-time deal and must be taken the year the car was actually put into use. The tax deduction will not be available after this year (the deduction will become a credit). The deduction also only applies to the original owner of the Lexus RX 400h Hybrid car so if you purchased your Lexus RX 400h Hybrid second hand, it does not qualify.
